I was approached by Birmingham-based director John Humphreys to write a feature script based on his concept for a modern urban ghost story. The idea was fantastic and I threw myself into it.
Later, Natasha Carlish (Dreamfinder Productions) came on board as producer and secured a Script Lottery Grant from Screen West Midlands
But with drafts reaching double figures and no one quite agreed on the type of film I was writing, we agreed to shelve it and concentrate on more immediate projects.
There was talk of turning it into a TV series (I drafted ideas for serial elements and episode themes) and even a novel.
This happens all the time in film. You work on a project for three years, pour your heart into it, and in the end it gets developed to death and you have to walk away from it.
